Saturday 1st August, National Day: largely sunny weather, but often a muggy atmosphere. A few storm pockets likely to develop in the afternoon near high ground and in the mountains. Localised outbreaks over lowland regions cannot be ruled out. Maximum temperatures ranging between 31 and 33°, 24° at 1500 m. Sunday 2nd August: sunshine remaining generally abundant, but with cumulus clouds over high ground and in the mountains during the afternoon, leading to a few storm pockets between the end of the day and the evening. Storm risk more limited over lowland regions. Maximum temperatures could again approach 34-35° and 28° at 1500 m. Heatwave conditions likely to continue until the middle of next week. South-westerly flow at altitude could nevertheless become more humid and bring thundery areas to all regions, particularly from Tuesday or Wednesday. Peak heat on Monday with temperatures regularly exceeding 35° at low altitude.
